They marched between the lines of American and French troops and played the song, "The world turned upside down". The French were mercenaries. The Americans wanted to be free. The most powerful military force in the world was defeated by men and women who didn't give a damn about odds, just liberty. While two-thirds of their countrymen either sat on their asses, or helped the British. The relevency of this picture is crystal.
