He snatched a policeman's gun while in custody and shot himself in the chest...
At a petrol station in Greytown, while two policemen were apparently refuelling the car at 6.30am, the suspect managed to steal the firearm from the officer guarding him, police said.

People don't usually shoot themselves in the chest. They shoot themselves in the head.
I wonder if he managed to do so without leaving any fingerprints on the firearm... Neat trick!
