"The World Was a Very Different Place"

A pensioner who held an illegal arsenal of more than 100 guns at his home has been jailed for five years...His barrister told Caernarfon Crown Court "the world was a very different place" when Hughes' interest began.
Aye, that it was.

And if we don't get off our a**es and fight like cornered rats for our rights right now, that's the way it'll be here in a few short years!

The nerve of this guy! How dare he own personal property!

Doesn't he know that it is his responsibility to keep track of every little change in the laws that affect property he has owned for years?

The fact that the weapons were never used in a crime is clearly irrelevant! Doesn't he know that his actions and good intentions mean nothing? The state has decreed that owning such items is an offence, that is enough.

Really once we have made an example of enough of these "law abiding citizens" the rest of them will learn that the state is only one responsible enough to be trusted with firearms.

What good have weapons ever done in the hands of private citizens anyway?
