Two witnesses say a bipolar man killed Friday night was unarmed, on his knees and holding his hands in the air when Fort Myers police officers shot him.Thank goodness he was unarmed--we wouldn't want violent crazy people running around with guns.

Oh, wait a minute... We DO have volent crazy people running around with guns--and impunity! They're called 'cops'!
any bets on how long it takes for the "internal" investigation to clear the officers?
I bet with his hands in the air the officers thought he was calling down lightning on them and the "feared for their lives". That should get them off. I've seen less logical excuses for murder do it.
And why should people with certain mental disorders be denied the means to protect themselves? Some studies, in fact, show that "mentally ill" people are, as a group, LESS prone to violence than the general population of "normal" folks.
