We're the Only Ones "Not Obliged" Enough

Your request for information has now been considered and I am not obliged to supply the information you have requested.

Cryptic Subterranean follows up on the Thames Valley Police, who neglected to respond to an elderly woman being attacked with a hammer, and then lied and said they didn't respond because they had to prioritize their calls.

When I asked them what the greater priority was, and proved there were no area police emergencies reported in the news in that time period, they told me they wouldn't respond because I was "not involved." Now they tell Jay.Mac they won't respond because they don't have to. He tells me this came from Malcolm Hopgood, "Freedom of Information Officer." Talk about an Orwellian title.

I expect nothing less than this kind of CYA from "The Only Ones." I wish I could say I didn't expect it from the "authorized journalists," but in truth, that's why I've established that category here at WarOnGuns. Bloggers are treated with disdain, but too often "official" news outlets refuse to investigate stories, and taint what they do with bias, omission and lies.

Great follow-up, Jay.Mac. I'm going to see what I can do about getting this some wider exposure in the magazine...

I agree with the last commenter on the link. Cowardice was the higher priority.

In their contact information the Thames Valley Police ask if we are impressed and why. Here is what I sent them.

I have been extremely impressed with the level of cowardice, both physical and moral, exhibited by your department.

Not only did you not respond to an emergency call from an 80 year old woman being assaulted by a hammer wielding thug, but then to add an even deeper level of cowardice to your already cowardly non-actions, you refuse to say why you would not do your duty.

As I say, I am truly impressed. Your failure of duty, heart, and pledged service is so impressive that you are all the talk in the United States. None of the talk, by the way, is complimentary.

I do not suppose you will feel shame for your shameful acts, but be assured good men everywhere are ashamed of you and for you.
