A northeast Baltimore mother said she's angry and frustrated after her 12-year-old child was left alone to sit on a curb while police arrested her father and took him to central booking.
That'll teach him to have his name mistakenly placed on an arrest warrant!

Would think that there could be some form of negligence charges which could be filed against the officers.
Yes, the father had a warrant. But, it was for a "minor criminal violation". The daughter had nothing to do with it. It was totally irresponsible of the officers, and verging on criminal to abandon that child.
There is such a thing as basic human compassion.
This is clearly a case of "throwing the baby out with the bathwater". If I've ever seen one. "To Protect and to Serve" - remember?
Well, imagine that! Real life cops not having the compassion to children and the sense of duty of Horatio Caine on Miami CSI. Surely Hollywood didn't get it wrong !!

EDQ, as I read the story, the warrant was a mistake. Basically, the guy was "guilty" of driving without a seat belt--which, as you know, justifies a threat of lethal force for not complying...
