"Futures not funerals!" Jackson exhorted the crowd. "Sons not guns!"
...Jackson and Revs. James Meeks and Michael Pfleger encouraged the crowd to push for stricter gun laws. They vowed that the rally was just the beginning and that civil disobedience was possible.
So Jesse is now the final arbiter of which laws should be enforced and which should be ignored?
Who does he think he is--Gavin Newsom?

We need Brownings not Clowning.
How would anyone even participate in "civil disobedience" against guns? Seems an empty idea to me. If I own guns, are these folks gonna sit on my doorstep?
Jackson has always been, and remains, a gasbag, but he was reasonable, compared to what Father Michael Pfleger said at the event.
the "father" needs to have a federal investigation and kiss that 501(c)3 goodbye.
The church needs to take a look at him for advocating murder.
Then he needs to sit in a dark cell for the rest of his earthly life until he can sit for all eternity with sharpton and jackson/ God, if listening to them forever isn't hell I don't know what would be...maybe listening to the evil H for all time.
HH-I'm working the 501 (c) (3) angle as we speak. More tomorrow.
I just heard the audio. Michael Pfleger called for the "snuffing" of the gun shop owner and the legislators who didn't vote for "their" gun laws.
Michael Pfleger needs to spend some time behind bars. Free speech is oen thing, but advocating murder is crossing the line.
I would have a hard time believing that a priest would advocate murdering people in cold blood if I did not hear the recording myself.
The only thing I can imagine is that he does not know what the term means.
If he does in fact realize that the term means to murder, then he MUST be defrocked. The church must not tolerate such behavior amongst the clergy.
I don't think it likely that he is unaware of the meaning of "snuff out." He's known for his "hands on" work with troubled, inner-city Chicago youth--he probably knows more slang than I do.
Sharpton got away with it (remember "It's on, it's on!"); this guy will too.

History would seem to bear you out. He has gotten away with illegal gun buy-backs:
Illinois gun rights activists say this is illegal under state law because Father Pfleger does not have a Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) card, nor is he a licensed firearms dealer. Under the law, they insist, he can’t legally take possession of a gun, not even for a little while. Other people get in trouble for doing the same thing.
A call to the CAGE unit was no help. The man who answered would not give his name, became rude when asked about the gun turn-in project, and declined an offer to call me back at my office to confirm he was actually speaking to a reporter. When I asked to speak to his supervisor, his response was, “I am the supervisor.” He then hung up on me.
He has also gotten away with vandalism (apparently the First Amendment doesn't get much respect from him, either):
In his crusade, Pfleger has gone so far as to spend several hours in jail for painting over cigarette and liquor signs. Charged with criminal damage to property, Pfleger admitted the vandalism in court in July 1991 but argued that he had a moral right to act. The jurors agreed and acquitted him.
By the way, I noticed this passage on the website of Pfleger's St. Sabina Parish:
The men of the church have engaged in outreach to prostitutes and there have been numerous evangelization efforts throughout the community.
I bet it's easy to find men to volunteer for that "work," but didn't Jimmy Swaggert get in a lot of trouble for his "outreach" to a prostitute ;-) ?

You mean he was allowed to direct the attention of the jury to the law, as well as the facts? Some animals really are more equal than others, down here on the farm.
Actually, I'm having a minor RCOB just now.
