And There Was War in Heaven

Mr Feldman, who is public enemy number one for the NRA, has just published Ricochet: Confessions of a Gun Lobbyist, in which he accuses the association of using scare tactics to keep the money pouring in so that its executives can pay themselves vast salaries. [More]

My first instinct was to dismiss this guy as just another Judas Bob, but I gotta say, his premise is not without foundation. I'll need to get my hands on this book (in my copious free time) and see what else he says, but I'll get it from a library rather than pay for it. Feldman's hands aren't clean by a long shot, being the architect of the Clinton White House Quisling Fest. The lesson to be learned here: You can't serve two masters. But some won't learn that lesson. Despite the outright defection of that wretched mercenary Ricker and the protection bartering of Feldman, The Firearms Coalition reported NRA advertising for a State Liaison, where "Experience with firearms, hunting and criminal justice reform issues helpful, but not required." If you're going to dally with whores, don't act all shocked and indignant when you find them doing somebody else. This whole scenario reminds me of nothing so much as the Mr. Slave/Paris Hilton face-off on "South Park". And just think--these guys are our "leaders," the ones making all the money at this racket.

Which falls in line with my theory on how the Roman Empire really fell apart. Follow the dough. When influential posts, elected and unelected, are up for sale, integrity and principle are no more. It's just all business transactions. The will of the people is ignored, barbarians and others stream across unguarded borders, crime runs rampant, justice is up for grabs to the highest bidder(remember that integrity thing), bureaucrats increase in power and oppressiveness, morality and decorum are things of the past. See anything familiar here? Oh, I forgot, tinpot countries that are ignored and become deadly threats. I like money as well as the next person, and what it can do. But it has become an end to itself, and nature abhors a power vacuum. Our power once was our humility before the G*d that made us. We didn't engage in excess, because we knew He could remove it, and us, in a flash. We believed in the Golden Rule. We looked after the widows and orphans, the elderly, the sick, the truly unfortunate. Now, it's everyman for himself, get as much as you can and the devil take the hindmost. If you're rolling in dough, roll in it some more, and make a public, disgusting spectacle of yourself while you do. Hey, everybody does it. The NRA quit caring about the 2A a long time ago, it's just a reference point for fundraising. Maybe a war in heaven is right David, but the one here on earth doesn't have to be fought by Satan and his pals. Ricker and Feldman are just executing plays from the Devils' playbook. They have lots of teamates.
