Reacting to escalating gun and gang violence across New Jersey, Gov. Jon S. Corzine on Tuesday unveiled an anti-crime strategy that he said would reduce the state's rising murder rate and allow people to feel safer in their communities.
I don't get it. I read the whole and don't see a word about not infringing on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
Oh, wait--the object is to make them feel safer.

Shouldn't they just enact a curfew after 12am? Because nobody out at that late of night is out for any GOOD purpose, right? Anyone caught out after curfew is tossed in the slammer for the night, not even booked or charged, just placed in protective custody for 8 hours.
Anyone with a legit reason to be out has their state license to prove it.

Hey Joe,while that idea isn't a bad one,many cities in NJ do already have curfews on the books,mostly for minors.I drive tractor-trailer into Jersey and NYC almost everyday between 12-4AM.You'd be suprised by the amount of people out at that time of the night,doing who knows what.I'd also be concerned with the police stopping me for no reason other than to see my papers
(truckers are already overly regulated through log books,hours of service,ect....)and that could seriously infringe upon other rights we enjoy as citizens.Your right though,Such things need be discussed.Have a great week!!
