The man who killed four people at a church and missionary training center shot himself in the head and died after being hit by shots from a church security officer, police said Tuesday.Perhaps. But there can be no doubt she stopped him and hastened his choice to pull the trigger before he bled to death--or worse, in his mind--was saved by paramedics.
But here's where it really gets good:
Also Tuesday, Minneapolis police Sgt. Jesse Garcia said Assam was fired from the Minneapolis force in 1997 for lying during an internal investigation. Sgt. John Delmonico, president of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis, said police were investigating a complaint that [Jeanne] Assam swore at a bus driver while she was handling an incident on a city bus.
I wonder if they're in the habit of releasing past employee personnel records like this, and wonder if that shouldn't prompt an investigation. What Assam represents, and therefore, she herself, must be discredited at all costs. They can't let us have her as an example: it's just too dangerous and damaging to their agenda.
She once swore at a bus driver? They are desperately digging for any mud they can throw that might stick, aren't they?
I'm waiting for God-only-knows-what to come slithering out from under the woodwork. I hope this lady has a fine support network, and a way of getting feedback about how many people are grateful for her inspiring bravery.

Yeah, I thought this was going to happen. Can't let her have the credit. Guess what, I would have given her the credit if when he saw her pointing her gun at him, he had PSH and shot himself without harming anyone. Can anyone really argue that her actions didn't cause him to expire soon than he expected?
It started this morning. There was a write-in listener on a local radio show who warned against Citizens exercising their natural rights, because "first responders" (i.e. SWAT teams) would show up and not be able to tell the difference between armed attackers and defenders.
Leads me to wonder if this is an example of the special "training" that makes them more qualified to defend their lives than the layman, or perhaps shoot-anything-that-moves is the tactic mentioned in the acronym.
I'm sorry, I usually don't jump on cops, but this implies that the purpose of the police is to engage in combat, not enforce the law. Couldn't let it pass, but I acknowledge that it might have been just another liberty-fearing hoplophobe.
I'm interested in your take, David, because I'm guessing you've probably corrected this excuse many times in the past.
A goblin is dead.An armed civilian hastened his demise. She saved who knows how many lives by her actions. Her past"infractions" mean NOTHING!What she did that day means EVERYTHING!They can spin it anyway they wish,The 2ND Amendment, and RKBA,has proven again it's importance to our society.Yet ANOTHER reason we need to continue to fight for them at any cost!!
"or perhaps shoot-anything-that-moves is the tactic mentioned in the acronym"
That is exactly the tactic used by many of the police in my area (Virginia Beach/Norfolk). A plain clothes officer was killed at a crime scene in Norfolk not long ago because the uniformed officers couldn't be bothered to try to identify the target before shooting. All they needed to see was a black man with a gun, and they let loose.
Maybe we could write her church to let her know how much we appreciate her courage.
As for getting shot by the police, well, you don't even need to be armed for that to happen. However, if you are involved in a shooting and the police arrive while your gun is still out, I would advise you keep it aimed at the ground so as not to appear threatening.
My wife and I talked about this earlier today, and I told her that Assam was going to be demeaned in any way possible, because media and government cannot allow the average citizen to begin to see the superiority of self reliance as a strategy for security and liberty.
The power shift would leave government with less perceived power. Most of its power is perception, if the average citizen had already discovered the genius of self reliance government would be forced to live within the bounds of its actual power as granted by us in the constitution.
I have read several articles and interviews and the latest one I read updated with a correction that the thug had two handguns and a rifle, instead of as previously stated a handguns a shotgun and a rifle.
How did he off himself with a shotgun he didn't have? I suspect this is more spin to belittle the accomplishment of an average non-LEO citizen doing the job the cops would have waited outside on. It wouldn't be the first time law enforcement did such, would it? No wonder they are trying to demean this woman.
I want to witness the autopsy before I believe a word of the official story of how this creep died. And I suspect then I won't believe it.
Another thing that makes the official story seem fishy is the alacrity with which the Minneapolis PD made personnel records available when they won't even release the name of an officer who is accused by witnesses of murder.
The effort to demean her is too quick, efficient and well coordinated to not have a single controlling hand on the helm. A hand that is determined to maintain its perceived power by keeping its citizens purposely misinformed.
I for one am glad the this dirtbag offed himself before he bled out. That lets the real hero feel good b]about herself without all that taking a life emotional self doubt.
I would consider writing the church to express my regret that they have demonstrated a need to guard their flock with 15 to 20 armed volunteers. That's just awful.
Though I shouldn't be surprised. Attempting to erase a 500-year-old technology from civilization simply returns it to the state in which it was prior to that time. Certainly no one would argue otherwise in the case of electricity or plumbing. Why would firearms be any different?
found this at uncle's, stole it. Here ya go.

Bingo! I win!
Jeanne Assam received a 24 hour suspension, not fired.

Somebody’s a liar.
It's no longer news, it's dropping off the radar like it didn't happen.
I have already printed several of the articles, as they will fall off the net.
If it's not the spin the media wanted, "it didn't happen"
Hey, I heard she got a speeding ticket once too!
/sarcasm
I don't know what's worse, the mudslinging, the attempts by other people in the media to try making it look like she was a paid security guard in order to downplay the CCW aspect, or the fact the Brady Campaign to Promote Gun Violence is pretending she doesn't exist while they play the guns-are-eeeevil card.
