A Concession Here, A Concession There...

To get her gun bill through the first legislative skirmish, state Sen. Karen Johnson needed to scratch language that would have let people carry concealed weapons on public K-12 campuses in Arizona.

Now, the Mesa Republican says she will have to give up more ground in the battle over her divisive proposal if it has any chance of surviving in the state Legislature.

And at the end of it all there may be a special sticker, and those least qualified will be empowered to dictate storage policy.

But I will concede it's "pragmatic" and the only thing that can be done with any hope of political success. The only alternative, besides surrender, is for "absolutists" to carry in defiance of evil disarmament edicts. If enough did, this discussion would be irrelevant.

But we all know enough won't.

The machine feeds itself, no?

Just too many unmen willing to be pragmatic. I don't blame them for being weak sisters, not everybody can have guts, but it really chaps my ass when they try to convince me they are my intellectual and moral superiors.

In dealing with the Gun Control crowd, it's helpful to understand their definition of "Conciliation"...

"We (Gun Control Fanatics) know we're going to get hosed, so we're going to make nice until you (Gun Rights Advocates) are off balance and we can bend you over the barrel again".

... And "Compromise":
"You (Gun Rights Advocates) will give up a little, and we (Gun Control Fanatics) are going to reciprocate by giving up not a damn thing, and screw you for a fool if you think your position will be improved by 'compromise'."
