Missouri law prohibits O'Connor from being charged with a felony because he is a law enforcement officer, according to a statement by Ed Postawko, chief warrant officer for the circuit attorney's office.
You got that, right?
Being an "Only One" guarantees a lesser charge. By law.
Had enough yet?

UPDATE:Here's another account that just adds insult to injury:
" A civilian in similar circumstances could have been charged with unlawful use of a weapon. State law makes it a felony when a person "exhibits, in the presence of one or more persons, any weapon readily capable of lethal use in an angry or threatening manner."That seems ripe for challenge under "the supreme law of the land's" equal protection guarantee. Or it would be in nation where justice mattered.
Police officers have been exempt from prosecution for that violation for some time. In 2003, legislators included off-duty police officers in the exemption.

I know I've sure had enough!
David, for all the high ideals put down in writing in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, we are ultimately ruled by men, not by law. The men in power will ALWAYS twist the Constitution and the law to appease their lust for power over us, no matter which party they are in. We have all had enough, but it won't matter to them until we all go "Carl Drega" on them. That is the only thing that will tell them we mean business.
is there a law about cleaning blood that shot from your eyes off your monitor yet?
If not I better hurry, it'll be coming soon enough.
Criminal conspiracy should also be tacked on against the lawgivers.
Bring on Nuremberg II!
I'll bet the sonofabitch isn't immune to a bullet in the brain. Let's see the stupid motherfuckers protect him from that.
It seems to be that what they really want is a final determination by force of just who is in power. I say ok.
And I seriously mean the perjoratives I used. I couldn't say what I really felt because no one has invented the words yet.
Whadda ya mean - equal protection?
Haven't y'all figured out that all animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others?
David has innumerable posts about the "only ones" on this site. How many of these actions by "only ones " would land a mere "citizen" in the slammer, so deep that you'd have to pipe him some light?
The multitude of alphabet soup agencies have "swat teams." And they use them whenever they want.
Government can spend umpteen billions of tax dollars - like fiascoes with computers at IRS or the recent one with the computers for the upcoming census - and not only does nothing happen, but the people in charge likely get a promotion.
When something like that happens on a much smaller scale in the private sector, someone goes to jail for a very long time. That is, unless it's a federal contractor like Boeing, and they sell a failure of a border "control" system to the feds for a gazillion dollars, which system doesn't work. Then they get a much larger contract to "fix" the system. What an effing crock.
The fact is that local, state and federal government personnel can do whatever the hell they want with little fear of reprisal. There's little wonder that many people want to go to work for the government. One can then do whatever the hell they want. Ever deal with any government agency? Do they act like a public servant, or like your masters?
Little will change until they do something really terrible like banning football or reruns of "Friends" from TV.
The sheeple tolerate pretty much whatever happens, so long as it happens to someone else. They don't even care when their tax dollars are wasted, if they ever wake up enough to notice. (See, for instance, Waco, Russ Howard, etc. for what sheeple do when the government decides to financially ruin or kill someone. When something similar happens to YOU - sad to say - you'll be on your own. Just like Mr. Howard, and many others.
And some enlightened f**ktards want to disarm "the people." It's clear that few American citizens are paying attention to what has happened to this country. Most actually believe the crap that they are force fed by authorized journalists.
My guess is that there are less than a percent of the American people who really care about anything except what's on TV tonight.
Worse is better, Comrade, worse is better.
