Giving Them What They Want

Over many torturous hours, she had been repeatedly raped, sodomized and forced to perform oral sex, a prosecutor told a jury on Thursday. The accused, Robert A. Williams, 31, had doused the woman’s face and body with boiling water and bleach, forced her to swallow handfuls of pills and to chase them with beer, sealed her mouth with glue, and bound her wrists and legs with shoelaces, cords and duct tape, said the prosecutor, Ann P. Prunty. And now, Ms. Prunty said, he was asking the woman to gouge out her own eyes with a pair of scissors.
Fortunately for the victim, she lived in Bloomberg Paradise. Otherwise, her assialant might have taken her gun away and used it against her.

She did the right thing by obeying the law and giving him what he wanted, don't you agree?

The choice is forced on us to care about obedience to the law, or our lives. This woman chose poorly, God bless her.
There's no shortage of sadists. Every violent criminal is one, inflicting suffering being their CHOSEN profession. We know where else we can find sadists too, don't we?

The question that keeps coming to my mind is: Why would anyone with an ounce of sense want to live in a place like that?

Why don't people vote with their feet?

And don't tell me they "can't afford it!" People have migrated since the dawn of time with what they had on their backs... if it was important enough to them.

Ask the Mexicans who are starving...

Inertia is a powerful force, especially if you can't really imagine any place that is better.

It's a good thing she didn't have a gun...because she might have hurt someone.

Right?

This scenario is played out every day, everywhere in the world. Usually, the victim is found, after a frantic search, decomposing in a shallow grave.

The fact that the survivor of this crime is alive to testify to the horror she endured makes it painfully clear that we, as a whole, have become used to this predation. It takes her personal account to shock us back into focus and declare this unacceptable.

I know that violent crime against everyone has risen since disarmament laws were passed; have crimes against women risen also?
