Police say an off-duty officer has shot and killed an armed man who grabbed the officer's wife and their 3-year-old daughter in a Bronx elevator.Very good.
Now how about the rest of us?
Can we protect our loved ones, too?
Or, when in the Bronx, is that a privilege reserved for "Only Ones"?

I think it was Ogden Nash who said "The Bronx? No thonx."
Will they spin this to "It was someone the officer had arrested and jailed, looking for revenge. Ordinary citizens face much less danger in their daily lives blah blah"? I'd like to introduce them to some ordinary people who could disprove that statement, but unfortunately THEY'RE ALL DEAD.
Cops make enemies. Judges, prosecutors, parole officers, bail bondsmen, prison guards too. Oh, LEGISLATORS, governors, mayors, presidents, police CHIEFS. But no one else, I guess.
It's not the deadly weapon with your name on it you should worry about, but the one addressed "To whom it may concern."
Watched one of those true crime shows last night. A forensics instructor approached a task force with information about a serial killer in Baton Rouge. They rejected it all. THREE TIMES. They had their FBI profiles.
Meanwhile, the guy killed four more women.
A news clip said "women are more interested in selfdefense courses, and sales of pepper spray are up dramatically."
AND?...
And nothing.
The knifeman will only take your handgun away from you and use it on you. Better to die from punches, kicks and slashes and stabs, because only the police are Jedi Masters of the Gun.
Defender has huge points, granted.
Fact of the matter is: if a common piece of shit citizen protected his families live in such a manor, that citizen would be subject to imprisonment.
Now how messed up is that?
