We're the Only Ones Reinstated Enough

A judge has ruled that the Highway Patrol trooper who was fired for abusing his police dog should be reinstated with back pay.
Remember?

Congratulations, Administrative Law Judge Fred Morrison. Thanks to your ruling, NC "Only Ones" now know they can get their kicks and they'll have a pal on the bench.

This ought to be an object lesson for anyone pulled over by the NC Highway Patrol in terms of the type of conduct that is condoned by the judicial system there. It might make one think twice about consenting to be placed under control--particularly if the demeanor of the trooper indicates he intends to treat you like a dog.

So hanging a live animal -- your PARTNER -- by the paws for a kickboxing dummy is OK?
DULY NOTED. I travel into NC now and again. I'll be vigilant. Ready for ANYTHING.
Do the TROOPERS get such "pain conditioning"? Now there's an interesting question.
If you want respect, be respectable.
The dog in the video didn't squirm or try to tuck in and protect itself, just hung there and took it. That poor mutt would probably die joyously to protect its ABUSER. Sickening.

This is a perfect example of the old saying "What is legal is not always right, and what is right is not always legal." From a legal standpoint the judge is correct. None of the required procedures were followed, the bastard was summarily fired (the right thing to do).

Fortunately, the judge's decision is apparently not binding.
"This is a recommendation from a [sic] administrative hearing judge, it is just a recommendation,” said Clendenin [Lt. Everett Clendenin of the N.C. Highway Patrol]. “It now goes to the office of state personnel for final decision."

Hopefully the office of state personnel will make the right decision, and uphold the firing.

The right decision would put the bastard in jail for twenty years for armed assault of a police officer, just like any other citizen would get.
