The Tools of the Trade

"Dick Chase brings his fresh vision to fight violent crime and make communities of the Rocky Mountain West safer from gangs and firearms- and explosives-related violent crime," said Director Sullivan. "The strategic plan of ATF focuses our human and technical resources on keeping the 'tools of the trade' out of the hands of violent criminals. ATF is the federal government's main agency to prevent violent crime."
What's he going to do? Shut the gangs down for filling out forms wrong?

If Chief Tool of the Trade Maximum Mike thinks Dick Chase will "prevent violent crime," he might as well chase his ....

As for being the "main agency," tell it to the FBI. They still throwing you "Good O" Boys out of crime scenes?

And as for getting guns "out of the hands of violent criminals," I'm all for that.

Starting with BATFU.

i have a problem with the idea of rounding people up because they're "gang-related," or denying them their human rights because they're now of the "felon" class. but only to the extent that these are groups, not individuals. we shouldn't need laws and regulations to edge the favor against one group of behavior, if it truly is suboptimal; i don't believe the canard of "anarchy would reduce us to chaos," i honestly think a friday revolution would prove that hardened criminals turn up dead in the gutter on monday morning.

still, it would seem there are circumstances in which someone who has previously violated the law ought to receive absolutely zero protection from men, through law, thereafter. but then, identification issues arise. will we tattoo them to tell them apart? (perhaps felons should get a big, bright, smiling hello kitty on their forehead.)

i feel we fall into a trap one way or another, allowing ourselves to go around classifying society, which seems a pretty piss-poor way to promote happiness, because it automatically breeds resentment from that class AND from crazy class-friendly sympathizers (a.k.a. whiny, self-described liberals). yes, of course, i'll take liberty first, but i can still use my liberty to lament!

then again, perhaps it is in man's nature to classify himself. and wouldn't that be a kick in the pants for the "reformers" wing of sociologists and psychologists in criminal justice? the "hardened criminals" they think they can "reintroduce to society" made themselves in their own self-image -- spending your life's work trying to change them reveals the definition of sanity to the rest of us.

like i've said before, though, you've gotta have something in society for the autistic to do.

"Starting with BATFU."

Agreed.

There is also a certain FBI "sniper" and his bosses that need to be brought to justice.

"ATF is the federal government's main agency to prevent violent crime"? I thought there job had nothing to do with violent crime, let alone preventing it. How does a federal agency prevent violent crime?

Has Sullivan tipped us off to a future/planned role? Possible role during/after declaring martial law?

What pathetic wastes of skin. They need to get honest jobs, but are woefully inadequate for that task. Only made for tyranny, so what happens when tyranny is no longer the standard mode?
