Safe at Last

The boys are 9, 12 and 13 years old. They got locked in the safe when a friend shut the door as a prank at Dick's Sporting Goods.
Two things: People need to be responsible to watch their damn kids when they go shopping and not just let them run free in stores, at least until they've proven themselves responsible enough to be trusted with a looser rein. And Dick's should have enough experience with customers to anticipate some people aren't responsible and the kids they have are generally idiots.

I wonder who's going to eat the damage?

Not to mention that, if you own a safe, it's probably a pretty good idea if you know how to get it open safely! The store needs to eat the damage since they couldn't open it... but their insurance will probably pay and they will learn nothing.

I'll bet it will be a day or two before those kids crawl into a small space and shut the door! At least I hope so.

If they were my boys, they'd not sit down comfortably for a while.

Dick's employees need to know the combinations if only for the fact that those things are expensive to haul and install, owing to their weight.

Imagine buying the floor model, locking your guns away, and needing to call the fire department to get it open again.

While I agree that the little brats and their parents should never be allowed in a Dick's again, I feel that someone needs a reprimand for not, you know, writing the combination on a piece of masking tape and sticking it to the safe.

I'm sure these boy's will end up as Darwin Award recipients in the future.

I bet there's a refrigerator at their house. A Supercan trashcan too.
Will the anti-gun people seize on this and claim there's no such thing as SAFE gun storage?
A Texas boy, 3, died after being left in his family's truck while his mom worked at the HOSPITAL. She forgot to take him to daycare. He got out of his safety seat and tried to start the truck or open the power windows before falling unconscious.
Some tragedies are preventable, some aren't.
I always know if a gun or a child is in my house or my car. What's more important than that?

Makes one think about digital locks and their risks in actual practice too.

How stupid are they to not know the combo?? or have a key... My safe has digital combo and key.
