"Rally 'round the Virginians!"

Incidentally, the man who goes to the General Assembly to agitiate to keep even openly-carried guns out of restaurants that sell alcohol? Whap. His restaurant/brewpub was cited by the health department for 6 critial health violations. Friend, look to your own house before you try to "fix" a state.

When you turn to the state, don't be surprised if it turns ON you.

Not so much turning to the state, as attempting to get the state to follow its own laws.

Nothing wrong with giving the folks doing that a pat on the back while working to get rid of the thing entirely.

Wow, and out here in AZ I had lunch yesterday with a friend who was open carrying. No odd looks from anyone.

A few years ago I was open carrying in a local Walmart. During our shopping, a man came up to me and asked, "You're not with law enforcement, are you?" I thought it an odd question but answered to the negative. He then turned and walked away. My wife informed me that he was with store security, which made sense. He followed us throughout the store even outside after we finished. As we drove away, he was on a cell phone, still watching us. I can only imagine that he was speaking to "law enforcement" and they were educating him as to the law.

;)

Yesterday we were in the same Walmart and I was carrying my 1911A1 on my hip in a Yaqui holster. We had been in the store about two minutes when a largish man with a bluetooth headset on, moved past us and pretended to straighten up a display at the end of our aisle. As we moved around the end he moved down to the next endcap. We stayed in this area for about five minutes and I made a point of looking directly at this person as hard as he was not trying to look at me. He eventually moved off and I assumed we were being closely watched by camera. When we checked out he was at the front of the store watching as we left. Don't know if any call was initiated to "law enforcement". Hopefully they are learning.
