Let me say it straight out: a John McCain presidency would be far worse than a Barack Obama presidency. With a Democrat in the White House, conservatives and Christians suddenly find their principles and are able to offer resistance. Put a Republican in the Oval Office, however, and those same people become blind, deaf, and dumb to most any principle they profess.I was chided recently for neglecting Chuck Baldwin and the Constitution Party. My critic was right--he is the most faithful candidate on guns. And for those worried he would impose a conservative theocracy, I'd counter that he understands the Constitutional limits of the executive better than the other candidates.
Problem is...well, we know what the problem is.
If nothing else, this oughtta ruffle some GOA-hating prag feathers...

Well, he's right. But will gun owners stand up to Barack Obama and a new assault weapons ban, or will he and a liberal Congress slowly wipe us out of existence?
i think chuck mostly markets the theocracy undertones. he's not stupid; he knows it's a government of the people.
however, if he had his way, i think you'd find society would probably spontaneously find itself appropriating a lot of theocratic features. like juries of truly moral and ethical people (oh, the horror). i'd wager he's betting or at least hoping that people would wake up to that kind of thing.
and quite frankly, if he turned on his principles to try and force it, how would that be any different from lincoln, woodroe, FDR, the rest of the gang, and even W, now, today? smart leaders abdicate before they cause civil unrest. by that measure, nixon wasn't all that bad, huh?
Whoever is annointed "President", I will keep counting ammo and oiling my guns.
Amen, Kent. III.
