Two Iraq war veterans allege in a federal lawsuit they were forced by small-town Wisconsin police officers to lap up what was thought to be urine.I'm sorry, but they would have to kill me first. Really.
Why the vets didn't refuse is a question I have. And then I read the young animals are respectively 19 and 20? I guess that's a prime age for feral gangbangers. Who better to exalt to the status of "Only One"?
Perhaps the vets from the "Battle of Athens" were of a generation still in touch with rights that are no longer taught. But what disturbs me the most about this is the "follow any order" mentality manifested here.
If you can order a soldier to lick a puddle of urine, what order won't he obey?
I see Wisconsin Dells, where this happened, is a big tourist destination. I think it would be in order to let them know we just wouldn't feel safe putting ourselves at the mercy of their hired sociopaths, so until they use their influence to put a conclusive end to such abuses, we have plenty of other choices. You can write them at info@wisdells.com. You can also tell their Chamber of Commerce.
And I guess as long as we're sending out correspondence, it wouldn't hurt to let their police department know how such abuse deserves to be treated by citizens who do know their rights and are committed to defending them against domestic enemies:

In an alley.
That's not exactly "in public."
And what kind of plant did he make them eat? Do they even know? I guess it turned out not to be toxic.
This is another milestone on the road to the inevitable backlash.
Remember in the bad old days of segregation, restrooms for blacks were only in black neighborhoods and black commercial areas. It gave the authorities the smug knowledge that they were causing discomfort and inconvenience to their "inferiors," too, and forcing them to sometimes violate public-urination laws and risk arrest and abuse,
Sadism isn't rare.
It needs consequences that are immediate and direct.
Are Nazis being reincarnated as American law enFORCErs? Will people of the future talk about the depredations suffered by American citizens instead of the National Socialist horrors of 1937-45?
I doubt this was that cops first example of, to use the disciplinary action term, "bad judgment." Only the first one someone dared bring to light.
Sounds like some necks should have been snapped.
FTA: "The suit alleges infliction of emotional distress; negligent hiring, training and supervision of Thomas and Jacobson;"
So training in criminology, police academy, firearms training, and rules of conduct didn't transform the petit tyran into a decent citizen? Oh the shame! This spells doom for permit systems nation-wide. I'm starting to wonder if there is any hope at all for "Big" Tim Sullivan's criminal competition elimination methodology.
What a shame those veterans were not Marines... seems to me the state would have been suddenly short two uniformed thugs...
Semper Fi
Was Tequila involved? This just doesn't even sound plausible for a sober, sane individual.
Frankly, GI's better know that cops have zero respect for them because most of the "should have been" factory workers who become cops have never served. Yea OK, some cops have served, granted. But have you ever heard of one of them on the stand under oath countering.......?
Looks like the PD fired one of the cops and suspended the other on the say-so of the third officer who happened across the scene.
Apparently not every cop is a dirty one, although I'm surprised how rare they are.
I agree with David's assessment of the plaintiff's actions. If you let a teenaged cop order you to lap up your own piss, what the hell is wrong with you? What orders WONT you follow? And coming so soon after the revived interest in Lon Horiuchi.
