I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!
His refection looked like a) a dog, b) a mother hold a child, c) another officer, or d) He wasn't in uniform and was dressed like a street thug himself.
Could have been any or all of the above answers.
What ever happened to #4 of Col. Cooper's gun safety rules?
1. "All guns are always loaded".
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Always be sure of your target.
Now I feel better about trying to use a mirror to do bank shots with my laser-equipped pistol.
Just kidding.
We should all feel so safe. Our "Only Ones" faithfully protecting us these days are on such high alert that even their own shadow sets them into motion to do anything in order to protect innocent "civilians".
Good thing I'm one of those "civilians" with nothing to hide -- except my shadow, (for fear of being shot).
Now, come on. I have to admit that if I came around a corner in MY house, and saw a jack-booted, black-ninja'd, balaclava'd, wild-eyed maniac pointing a gun at me, I'd probably shoot him, too.

Leaving aside that he was chasing a guy he should have been leaving alone, according to the article he did have reason to believe the guy had a gun. He also saw a guy with a gun pointed at him -- that it was his own reflection is really quite beside the point: if you don't respond quickly, you die. It's pretty funny seating here at my desk but with the adrenaline pumping it was probably more than a little scary for him.

No idea what Anon@12:01 might think, but I'm quite willing to say that he is less qualified than me to be armed. He offered violence to a man who, so far as we know, had harmed no other person. If he wasn't an "only one", he would be charged with assault, breaking and entering, destruction of property, reckless endangerment of innocent bystanders, and probably a few other _real_ crimes.
