A Reasonable Restriction

Ban all guns...[More]
Wait a minute--I thought the new post-Heller talking point from the antis was no one wants to do that and now we can focus on "common sense measures."

Robert Smith Jr. offers the most intellectually impaired opinion piece I have yet read, and I've read a lot of 'em. But at least he takes the mask off--and you'll notice no "leading" anti-gunners have rushed in to repudiate him.

The short answer, Bob, is "No."

The longer answer is two words, starts with "F" and ends with "you."

Your move.

The Founding Fathers of our country made a mistake when they said we had the right to bear arms. They did not know we would be allies with the British and no longer have to worry about them coming over to oppress and colonize us. The British found greater spoils in Africa and India and never looked back on the United States after the Revolutionary War

So...that whole War of 1812 thing - somebody was just misquoted? A cow kicked over a lantern in Washington DC?

On a totally ad hominem note: How much does that guy weigh?

What a tool. But what can you expect? It's Detroit.

"guns are killing our people" or some such drivel... so with guns out of the equation, your people are doing swell? Complete spiritual denial of what's REALLY going on, and from a "reverend" no less.

Terribly written piece at that, my 12 year old sister in law has made better arguments for me taking her to Disneyland.

So in one sentance they are kids and the next young black men?

What a bloated sack!

From the Disarmer's Dictionary:

Okay,( insert racist, vernacular, hate-filled epithet here), you come and take them, and they're yours. Some settling of contents may occur during shipping. Objects in rascals hands are larger, and more effective than they appear. Object is more politically incorrect than may be initially discerned.

i guess what's ironic is that if there was a ban on all guns nationwide, i'd get more of them. and i might as well fashion a DIAS to turn my ARs into authentic assault rifles.

they're all equally illegal. prices? tax stamps?

who cares? hey, if it's so important, come and take it! bring a lot of ammo.

bob, on the other hand, would still have zero guns. and he'd be sure to pay his taxes to front the cost of that ammo that'd eventually be fired at me.

don't think that i'd forget that, bob.

Hey check out Robert Smith, Jr.'s bio page--specifically, the name of "Political figure I can't stand." Unless he for some reason hates Australia's Fred Chaney, I can only conclude that after eight years, he still hasn't learned how to spell the vice president's name.

I feel like I just wrote a book over there, but it had to be done. I don't see it over there and don't know if it will even show up. The basics of my reply are just common sense. Heck, I'll just re-post it at my place.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, David!

Ol' Jabba there looks like he weighs about 350+, not much of it muscle.

Not that I think attacking a man's appearance is a valid retort, but c'mon- when a guy clearly has that little self-restraint, how much can his opinion be worth... on anything?

Classic projection. Most of these twerps know deep down they lack the self-control to be trusted with a firearm, so they assume that everybody else does too.

It is 2nd Amendment rights that defend 1st Amendment rights of free exercise of religion, free speech, and the right to peacably assemble. Would you advocate that we give up all of them?
