Holy Shit!
You notice, the coalitions are led by the social democrats (can we say communists) and the greens.
Let us pray that the majority of Swiss voters do not have their heads jammed up their butts, as are here in our country.
Omygosh, the next thing you will know, Al Gore will run for office in Switzerland.

after the socialists get done with Switzerland, our glorious leaders in the US can point to the Swiss and say we need to disarm here also.
Barbara Weil, of the Swiss Medical Association, said it had been scientifically proven that if the guns were less freely available the number of suicides would drop.
The studies had also shown that other methods of suicide did not increase in countries who had brought in stricter gun controls.
Scientifically proven, eh? And here's the problem with old media: there's no opportunity to challenge those making the claim. I suppose if journalists would do their jobs and do the challenging, it wouldn't be a problem.
So here's what I would ask: What study? Who commissioned it? Why? Who funded it? What were the methodologies used? Can we see the raw data?
I need to do a blog post some day on my view of this supposed unerring god called "science." My view is that when evaluating whether or not something is true, what it all boils down to is this: who do you believe? Are they trustworthy? What do their peers say? Their enemies? How much credibility do their peers and/or enemies have. Unless you're going to break out the Bunsen burner, flask, beakers, and calculators (or are an eyewitness in the case of one time events) that's really all that matters. And even that is subject to a certain amount of trust in what you've been taught by other people who may have an agenda.
The masses seem to have this unwavering trust in media when they cite 'scientific' studies without considering any of these factors.
That all aside, there is one response I have to any so-called studies that try to disparage inanimate objects: so? It's still my unalienable right. I'll agree to work with anyone who wants to decrease crime, but with the pre-condition that the solution does not infringe in the slightest way, my right to keep and bear arms.
Journalists and politicians. They should be required to be successful at a REAL job first. I doubt they could handle it. Journalists rephrase others' words, politicians repurpose others' money. That's it.
After the Anschluss an emissary of Hitler went to Switzerland to confer with Swiss authorities.
While there he remarked "How could you win if Germany invaded Switzerland, for example? After all, our Wehrmacht is twice as large as your entire population."
To which a crusty old Swiss Sergeant, who was decidedly proud of Swiss marksmanship and proficiency at arms replied,"We should each have to shoot twice."
No indication if that may have had a dampening effect on Germany's expansionist plans, but they did bypass Switzerland while enslaving countries all around them.
Now, there are people in Switzerland who wish to remove that obstacle. I believe it is justified to question their allegiance and patriotism.
My cousin warned me 20 years ago that the "f***ing communists" were trying to take over and it looks like they're succeeding. I'm proud of my Swiss heritage; it would be a shame to watch the confederation go down the EUrinal.
