Actually, the "no regrets" part of the article's title is basically calling him a liar.

THAT'S a problematic statement right there.
As far as the OKC Police go, they are pretty good about working with folks in self defense / castle doctrine shootings. Mr. Ersland won't hear much from the OKC Police if it was a good shoot. I found them very helpful in retrieving a firearm after the OKC Bombing.
On the other hand, there are some bottom feeding lawyer's in town that would file a civil suite against him.
This shooting does show that you need to bring enough gun to the gun fight!
It is curious. The policeman in the video stated the suspects came in and demanded money and drugs...and then the store employee started shooting.
Thats quite a bit different from the way the store employee tells it.

I hereby call for the reinstatement of code duello. let these racist sonsofbitches stand outside and pull their racist crap when the might be challenged to back it up at the risk of their lives.
I understand many people think I am extreme, but the republic started downhill when the code of the duel was outlawed. Nothing makes a man consider his words more carefully than knowing he must back them with his life.
When a man refused to back his words at that risk, his position was ignored, and he personally would be ostracized both from personal and business interaction.
By eliminating the possibility of the duel we enabled all sorts of riff-raff, much of it Ivy League educated, to ruin society at no risk to themselves. Seems a whole lot stupid when one thinks about it.
Yeah, yeah, I know. A whole bunch of assholes will accuse me of being bloodthirsty. Not the case. I am more inclined to civility. Those not so inclined however, could see the advantage of civility if they must support their incivility at the risk of their lives.
My way is actually much more peaceable than most. There isn't a great need for wars, civil or otherwise, if all of us considered our words and acts in the light of perhaps having to defend them in the immediate with our lives.
Instead, we removed that risk and made trespass of another a no downside exercise until a great many were determined to kill each other. \\
Bring back the code of the duel.
Despite being a charter school Seeworth Academy is far from glamorous. Quite the opposite. It is an alternative school for those who are too much of a discipline problem for a normal school. It's essentially one step up from jail or juvie.
So Mr. Parker wasn't just a good kid with the wrong crowd. He's apparently a known discipline problem.

First, it would have as much rational effect at producing justice as dunking women to find out if they are witches.
Young men are prone to letting pride affect their judgment. They would answer a challenge of honor even though outmatched. Hell, some of us old men fit there too.
I believe in trying to get away from trouble. If someone will not let me do so--and do it with honor--the hell with meeting them at a predesignated place and doing things by rules. If they won't let me go after I've tried, it becomes any chair in a bar fight--meaning if I can sucker them and clobber them with something to escape unharmed, so be it. I didn't start it, I tried to stop it and they wouldn't let me, so screw 'em.
And the same for someone I loved. If I knew some homicidal bully was going after one of my sons, he would have to deal with me first--and I would not be inclined to let him know that until after doing the dealing.
Sorry, but I don't believe in fair fights. I believe in avoiding them, and if I can't, in winning them in no uncertain terms.
I am much the same in a fight, and I have survived a few I should not have. I not only survived, but I prevailed over odds. However, if our mindset as a nation was such that code duello was an integral part of it many of the transgressors and aggressors would know that if even the milquetoast with the sleeve garters and eye shade could and would engage them over matters of importance then most certainly EVERYBODY would have a mindset to destroy them if they were not cautious with their words and actions in much less formal settings than the dueling green.
That is the real contribution of the code. It encourages thought amongst those of evil intent.
