pretty pathetic. looks like pretty clear cut identity theft to me.

He converted the woman's property.
His motivation ( getting out of her yard ) is irrelevant.
Some Methheads did this to a guy in Southern Oregon last year, broke in, stole guns and jewelry, and then they put the contents of his whole house contents up as a craigslist giveaway in order to cover up their crime. Owner comes home to find a crowd in his yard emptying his house. The local police had these creeps jailed very quickly.
The only reason the prosecutors are having problems thinking here is because the perp is a cop.
