At first I thought it was College Park MARYLAND, but no, this couldn't turn out this way there.
I can't see a mention of the invaders ever shooting, yet the article says a female student was injured in "the crossfire."
I've been noticing that more lately. If someone shoots aCROSS a room or aCROSS a yard, it's referred to as CROSSfire. As opposed to contact range, I suppose.
Ah, those Authorized Journalists. I'm just glad they reported it at all.
That brave young man saved 10 other people's lives. I hope the parents of those 10 realize how lucky they are, and this hero should not have to worry about his college tuition from now until he graduates (tuition divided by 10). If my daughter was in that group that young man would also be the recipeint of a brand new gun of his choice and paid enrollment at Thunder Ranch, or any other good gunfighting school. Way to go son, you are a credit to the American male. God bless you and keep you.
A story with a happy ending, at least. It spoke to me enough that I wrote about it today as well.
I don't know whether or not to be impressed that the armed-student's name was not disclosed. Others' thoughts on that?
On the student's name not being used, I'm OK with that if he wanted to not have it printed. Or better yet, he's a crime victim and these punk criminals could be gang members who have punk brothers would would do him harm if they knew his name.
Being on this name part of this. I don't like how the news media loves to print someone's age. What does age have to do with whatever but trying to label the person to a degree.
Good point, AvgJoe. The state depends on labels, doesn't it? How else you going to pit people against one another but to establish the "we" versus "they" sentiment?
