The family of an Australian Aboriginal elder who died after being "cooked" in the back of a prison van on a scorching hot day is considering suing, they said. [More]"To serve man...it's...it's a cookbook!"

Sue? In THEIR courts? Before THEIR judges?
What is the phrase? "Handled according to procedure. The police department is not responsible for the vagaries of the weather."
Payment in kind is needed. That will remind the Overseers of their responsibilities to those in custody.
A "Quigley Down Under" sort of response.
the state never takes responsibility for its failure in the face of ever-changing reality. instead, it is (today) based on the idea that you can do the same things over and over to complete a list of narrowly defined tasks, on behalf of everyone else. yes, i realize that it could be worse. yet this is simultaneously the definition of insanity which everyone avails to so often. so!
riddle me this: whose idea was it to balance so precariously the security of the countryside itself on the very same pinhead idea?
doesn't that then make a pro-military and anti-militia stance the equivalent of a wrist-cutting emo kid who doesn't really want to commit suicide, but does want to alter his life in some symbolic fashion? in other words, his mind has projected a petty symbolic meaning to his actions despite the fact that they actually existentially threaten his survival. did he not have all the facts? or did he not care? what difference will it make to the knife and the arteries?
