I wouldn't put this on my house. Looks like a heck of a way to tell anyone who cases places and occupant movements for a living that there are rewards to be gained inside.

Agree. Nothing adds spice to a criminal's day like a high speed surprise. I favor making their day's work more exciting. Help them avoid the humdrum of business as usual. No signs to ruin the surprise.

A sign like that would be silly around here. Everyone has guns, and everyone with two brain cells left knows it already.
And then there's the big .45 on my hip... sort of hard to miss.

The best sign I think would be a temporary sign: A picture in the local newspaper of a dead home invader on one's front lawn.
Home invaders don't deserve a warning sign.
A lesson from nature: Rattlesnakes generally always buzz prior to biting (they hang up a sign, if you will). Rattlesnakes usually get their heads stomped and never get their bite. Copperheads, on the other hand, may get their heads stomped but they do get in a bite.
That's my objection to the "popular" advice to rack the shotgun so the sound will scare the intruder away. I don't know of any qualified military tacticians who advise giving the enemy the tactical advantage of your position, capabilities and situational awareness. I figure if someone is in my place and I fall, my family will be next. I owe no warning. I don't even want him to know I was there until he wakes up in Hell.
Sme people just can't leave well enough alone. It's not enough to have a gun they must advertise. They even go so far as to carry a card announcing such and blurting it out to a cop if they're stopped.
tjbbpgoblll, they may have to declare, by the rules of concealed carry in their state.
