The European Union Times is reporting here that Obama is using the deployment of additional troops to Afghanistan to cover for the movement of some 200,000 troops, presently on duty in countries other than Iraq and Afghanistan, to USNORTHCOM to prepare for the "expected outbreak of Civil War within the United States before the end of winter." [More]I've been chatting via email with some folks who have been hearing rumblings along these lines, and candidly don't know what to make of them. The source used here does not help, because the European Union Times does not make it easy to find out who is behind them (we learn practically nothing from their "About" tab or from a "whois" lookup).
So my suggestion is to look at all such reports with a critical eye toward reliability and credibility of sources. And as long as we're being critical, would it have killed the author of the linked piece to even acknowledge the existence of "Oath Keepers"?

I'm as leery of a "news source" that has Stormfront on its "Links" sidebar as one that has CPUSA.
EU Times looks like scumbag white nationalists. Doesn't say anything for their credibility.
The source material for that piece looks like paranoid ramblings peppered with Wikipedia references and links to other paranoiacs. Doesn't mean it isn't true, just much harder to believe as credible...
The US has about 400K troops deployed worldwide, about half of which in Iraq, Afghanistan and surrounding countries (Kuwait etc).
Their claim would involve pulling in nearly ALL troops in all branches from every nation they're deployed including the 73K in Germany, 41K in S. Korea, and 40K in Japan.
I think the abandonment of the dozens of bases in those countries alone would have been mentioned somewhere.
Well japan has been talking about kicking the US troops off their soil..
But that is not initiated by the US gov't.
Come on people, if this were actually happening, troop support and family support organizations would be going bananas.
Japan's been talking about that for decades. W/ China building a blue water force including developing carriers, Japan and Taiwan want us to stay.
Never mind that we'ld be hearing South Korea screaming from here if we pulled our troops off the DMZ.
Not saying that this is true. However, there are a rather large number of barracks going up on many army bases in the CONUS.
There's no way that Obama or the Democrats want to see our troops brought back to this country.
Count on them, to see that the troops stay overseas.
These are some of the most patriotic Americans. There are few jobs for them, they know how to use guns, and would be appalled to see what the politicians are doing to this country.

From what I can tell this site, the EU Times, is a white supremacy, anti-Semitic outfit. I saw references to Jews on that site that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up on its end.
However, this does not mean that at least some of what was reported is not true. The dubious source aside, there are other sources with similar reports.
What do we make of it? I dunno. At this point it's anybody's guess. I tend to be highly skeptical of the prison camps in the U.S. scenario, however, it has happened before within the last 70 years. Martial law has also been invoked several times in our history.
Thus, it is not beyond the realm of possibility, particularly with the current 'regime.'

I saw that piece via another site. I doubt very highly its accuracy.
I have to agree with The_Chef:
the logistical requirements to effect this type of re-deployment would be so massive as to be noticeable within the military community. While it is true that some additional construction of barracks space is happening on certain posts, that may well be (long overdue) upgrades to single- soldier living areas. The budgeting and contracting for those types of projects takes years and would have been undertaken while GWB was in office.
There was some talk of bringing back a brigade or two from Germany, and sending them to Ft. Hood, but (as of the last time I checked) those plans had been shelved, in part because the locals squawked really loudly about the "economic impact" to their communities. So, at most, I would expect the re-deployment of two brigades from overseas in the near future.
What happens after July 2011 and the expected start of the Afghanistan draw-down is another story.
I think you're paranoid. EU Times is certainly not "anti-semitic" or "white supremacist".
