Trying to disarm you and me will not reduce violent crime. It will only increase the disarmed victim pool, giving even more of an advantage to predators who observe no moral law. [More]
Also be haunted by a couple of Christmas spirits, and get the latest from my fellow GREs.

This is not news to those of us that are familiar with the truth, but it is one more reminder of the inconvenient truth for those whose heads are in the sand, and it bears repeating to all who will listen (and to those who won't). "We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." -- George Orwell
We live in a time when the requirement of redundant re-education ad infinitum of the ostriches is a given. Unfortunately, the ostriches retain just enough information to regurgitate a few facts which are immediately forgotten. ("Well, I passed that test. Aren't you proud of me?") If, and only if, they pull their heads out of the sand or from a convenient body orifice long enough to pay attention in the first place.
Sorta tempts one to just let them die in their self imposed ignorance (stupidity). Problem: When they go, they will no doubt take a lot of us with them.
