So, since people are charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, to wit a baseball bat or a golf club, then that includes those sporting goods on the list of prohibited equipment for players in Major League Baseball?
Besides, what are you going to do with pitchers like Pedro Martinez, who are notorious for their strategic use of pitches intentionally thrown outside the strike zone, otherwise known as inside pitches, brushback pitches or beanballs?

Last month a non-uniformed Washington DC police officer was videotaped responding gun in hand to snowballs thrown at his personal vehicle but was not disciplined for his behavior as it was deemed appropriate by his superiors. Does that mean that baseball players are not allowed to throw snowballs?
