Where There's Smoke...

An eastern Pennsylvania hospital says it plans to stop hiring new employees who are smokers. [More]
I wonder when someone's going to get around trying that with gun owners...

One could argue that the NBA has already instituted such a policy.

Not quite:

"The NBA's collective bargaining agreement allows for players to legally possess firearms, but prohibits them at league facilities or when traveling on league business."

Any company that doesn't want to hire me because I owns guns isn't a company that I care to work for.

I interviewed with a company owned by a teetotaller. He said he wouldn't hire anyone who drank. At all. Not merely at work. I told him tough luck, hope you find someone with my qualifications, bye.

He changed his policy.

Hmmm, If health care is a "right" they can't discriminate against someone just because they're "rights" cost a bit more.

Yes they can and they will once they realize they have to control cost in some manner.

So those people that are not worth their time politically are going to get left out in the cold.
