I love this quote from the piece...

"I'm not a gun nut," Speckman said. "But I've been involved in investigations of people now getting paroled who have probably been throwing darts at my picture in their cells."

I believe he's saying, "Yeah, but I NEED one!", after telling all those mere mortals (you know, civilians) they didn't NEED to.

After all (from the piece),

Speckman, 49, attended the FBI academy, trained at a nationally recognized firearms course, earned an MBA, is studying for a Ph.D, toted a gun for 30 years and screened gun permit applicants for seven years.

Mr. Speckman, what is it like to be treated like a mere mortal, you know, a civilian?

"It's just gotten to the point where I wish there were something a little bit more standard."

Like, for example, shall issue or how about, constitutional carry?

I notice that he did not get to this point until it affected him. He did not want something more standard for non-only ones.

SPIT!

This article is a crock. LEOSA says he doesn't need a permit
