Construed By Anyone

"The policy is if a tattoo can be construed by anyone as being gang-related or racially biased, then we can't accept them."[More]
By anyone?

You might want to tell this guy he's no longer welcome.

who here ever thought the Corps would turn into touchy-feely fembots?

I never did. Oh well. Perhaps they will sit the coming conflict out if we all show up with tattoos.

It's time to peacefully separate if allowed, as there is no conceivable way we can coexist with Marxists. If not allowed, and who ever heard of a Communist giving up power willingly, then it ain't gonna' be pretty.

We may not like it, but freedom of expression means letting someone burn a flag.

Kevin Patrick,

I think you're missing the point. Pretty much anything would offend the guy burning the flag. What if a Marine had a tattoo of an American flag and that offended the guy? Would you tell the Marine to get rid of it?

Uh... I did include the "this guy" link for a reason...

No, Jeff, you're missing the point. That flag is presumably that man's property, as is the body of the marine the marine's property.

As such, they can do with their respective property whatsoever they like, as long as the don't injure the life, liberty, or property of another.

So what if he's easily offended? He doesn't have a right to be 'not offended' in public. If he doesn't want to be offended, he can go home.

However, if a foreign invader, or someone nation supporting the invader, were in my country, I wouldn't care about offending them, or public burning of flags. I'd be looking up or starting the local resistance.

If I may: "The point" is, if the opinion of ANYONE that something is racially biased is the criterion here, then there will people who find the American flag to be a symbol of racism. Which makes the policy as articulated by the spokesman arbitrary to the point of being ludicrous.

Sorry of that wasn't clear.

I saw that earlier today. Good for you highlighting it.

This action is offensive to many Scotch-Irish Americans because the flag is based on the St. Andrews cross.

KP - I get what you're saying, but I'm with David here.

David - thanks again for the post!

People who wake up in the morning (every morning) looking to be offended damn sure WILL be offended. To Hell with them!
