The only thing I don't like about this story is there's no "perp later found dead" to it, at least, so far.

One can only hope that changes.

The persistence of this man is proof that too long have we acquiesced to the opinions of elected officials and the police they hire. He was not aware of the change in the public's attitude and thought he still had official cover.

It will require years of re-education by example before the lesson is universally known throughout the criminal community, but every example such as this one makes the learning of that lesson that much closer and increased safety for society that much more achievable.

I'll believe Helmke, Hennigan, Daley, Bloomberg mean what they preach when they all take parttime night shifts at the local liquor store unarmed and unguarded by security personnel. Until then I believe it obvious that even they don't believe themselves.

ACO: I went and found it and after reading it I'd bet money "Rudy" is someone from our side making a point of inserting Brady arguments with the intent to get the fence-sitters to see how ridiculous and indefensible they are.
