Just some thoughts for the day

As per the D Day museum website: http://www.ddaymuseum.co.uk/faq.htm

Approximately 2499 young Americans who waded through water and gunfire toward that beach (seen in the photo), or jumped from aircraft, that early morning did not live to see that evening’s sunset. A total of approximately 1915 fatalities were suffered by other allied troops. And, that was just the beginning, if one doesn’t count the approximately 12,000 allied airmen who died in April and May of 1944, during the preparations for D-Day.

I wonder how many of today’s generations even care. D-Day’s not even a national holiday and Memorial Day is just used by many as an excuse to go to the lake and get drunk. It is no longer politically correct to refer to our father’s struggles as a Crusade in Europe. Someone might become offended and we sure as hell can’t have that, can we?

Offend the Hell out of those "some". Slap the Hell out of them if they don't shut up.

Don't punch them, just slap them. They aren't men enough to take a punch. We have always been defended by men whom we haven't deserved. Pehaps we should reassess our characters and maybe, just maybe, correct them?
