We're the Only Ones Dazzling Enough

Unlike tasers, the Dazer Laser is not being sold to the public. [More]
Because you and I can't be trusted with light. We're not "Only Ones," so we might abuse/misuse it.

And the neat legal trick about that is, the government can then point to weapons not being "in common use," so that pesky clause about "shall not be infringed" doesn't apply!

If you don't believe me, just ask "conservative" Justice Scalia!

Shut up, Coxe--who asked you?

so?

it's a flashing green light. connect power to some big LEDs. put as much voltage as possible through it. color-match the light wavelength from the video. you could make one of these in an afternoon.

They will be misused.
"I said PULL OVER!"
"Aiiieee!" Screech,crash, boom.
I also see temprarily blinded criminals just opening up in the general direction of the cop, even more than they do now.
Also, I was reading about the UN disarmament treaty, and at a glance some of their other documents seem to call laser blinding weapons inhumane.
Also, a bright green light to designate one's own position? Yeah, go ahead and do that.
Also, thugs will start carrying mirrors.

Lasers point both ways.

Not being sold to the public, eh? Youtube has videos on how to use a CD burner laser as a "pointer", and they can pop a balloon, so there must be some danger to the Fedgoons.
