Rigid Resistance

Mayor Sam Adams' plan for new Portland gun laws could face stiff opposition [More]
Please--don't use that term when talking about Mayor Sam...

And this I like, from poor-minding-her-own-business-being-personally-pilloried-by-gun-bullies Ginny Burdick:
"The fundamental problem we have in Salem is the extremist end of the spectrum in the gun-owning community dominates the debate. They look bigger than they are because they're so loud."
Yeah--the media acts like such an amplifier for us. Fortunately, we don't need to be any bigger than, say, three percent...

Except if you're not an "Only One," you're just not competent enough to be trusted, and to suggest otherwise is extremist.

Again they tell us it's EXTREMIST to expect.. to insist... that local officials even follow a less-than-constitutional STATE LAW.
Then you might as well go ahead and be extremely extreme, extremists.

I don't recall being an extremist as a bad thing per se. After all, someone said that extremism in the pursuit of liberty is no vice, so why not wear the badge proudly?

Maybe the anti-gun folks need to develop a life-worth ranking system:

Cop - gets gun - Life-worth must be high

College Student - no gun - Life Worth is low

Homeowner at Home in City - gun with trigger lock - Life Worth is Moderate

Homeowner in Small Town - gets gun - Life Worth must be High

How does an individual's value or life's worth change based upon some anti-gunner's determination related to a person's geographic location????

I can protect my kid at home, but not at college?

Everyone deserves the right off self-protection regardless of your geographical location.
