Those who say certain rights were applicable to their time but no longer are, need to know that the conditions under which they were elected and sworn in may no longer apply, as well.
Amazing, that congresscritters and mayors STILL bring up the Indian and wild animals threat argument. They've been mostly replaced by two-legged predators and tribes of sadistic thugs, but even if those did not exist, the right remains a right.
Obama practically came out and agreed with the ground zero mosque imam that the First Amendment is a threat to national security and domestic peace. I remember a president quoting Voltaire: "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
