How can New Jersey imprison a gun owner who broke no laws?

It's a Jersey thing, where a police chief can deny your purchase permit on a whim.

The jury could have returned a not guilt verdict. Why they didn't do that mystifies me.

Don't ask permission, don't tell, don't involve the police. EVER.
Could be any of us.
It's not pleasant, being a peasant.
They WROL over us more and more.
And, note to the NRA: What do you expect, when you support "existing gun laws"? The fact that any are allowed just encourages them to use any or all, or make it up as they go.
We can no longer look down on Soviet Russia and their secret police and midnight trips to the Gulag.
