Sir,

Our ability to fulfill our religious obligation has been curtailed.
Zakat replaces the welfare society. Only those who wish to show their love for God pay zakat. Thus the widow, the orphan, the one in need, the one who has served his country, etc. become the obligation of the individual and not the responsibility of the nation.
Zakat is love.

I got love in my heart too. The dirtiest, blackest love there is, for my Moslem brothers and sisters. Come brothers and sisters, let us embrace at last.

I have no problem at all with how others choose to live their own lives - as long as their choices do not entail visiting force or fraud upon myself or others who choose another way of life.

Since the last commands, chronologically, the Koran itself issues to its followers involve both mandatory war for literal global conquest AND an explicit endorsement of lying to non-Muslims, I find it hard to see how any culture at all can exist peacefully with Islam.

I've been called a bigot. Instead, I retort that I believe the Koran.

Koran 9:29, 2:191-193; 9:3, 3:54 among many, many others.
