Sometimes it is really difficult to imagine how these pin heads manage these things...
Shoot yourself in the wrist? That would take negligence of epic proportions.
Guy who used to shoot informal competition at the range I go to used to clear his Glock by placing his palm over the muzzle to rack the slide.
When the safety officer cautioned him, he said "It's MY hand." He got sent home.
Media Only One BS alert: "The Mentalist" last night. Patrick Jane is kidnapped at gunpoint at a fruit stand. The stand owner comes up with a pistol and shoots the abductor, who shoots and kills him.
The detective captain says "The guy ran a FRUIT STAND. Why did he have a .380?!?"
Lt. Lisbon speculates "Maybe he got robbed."
Or maybe he was prepared IN CASE he got robbed. But he was a mere citizen, eh?

Are they saying civilians are not competent? Of course they are.
Recently, a person Jane saved gave him a pistol to use against the man who killed his wife and daughter. He didnt have it on him, doesn't believe in them, and that's why he's a hostage. I don't care how it turns out, personally.
