Half Empty or Half Full?

“The key to it,” he said, “is you got to have the right people on the streets.” [More]
The key to it is you have to get the wrong people off the streets.

That and stop forcing the right people to give them any kind of advantage.

Dog rescue is my sister's life. She tells me about the pit bull terriers saved from various dogfighting operations. Some can be rehabilitated and placed with individuals, maybe even families with older children. Some cannot, and will live out their lives in a private enclosure, isolated from anyone but their attendant, never to be within attacking distance of other people or animals, ever.
People are not dogs. Some are worse.
I see more social-working interlopers about to become "gun violence" statistics.
In a city where guns are illegal.
D'oh!

Ringing a bell so gunfire is not met by silence. Wow. Useful as tits on a boar hawg! But, what else can you expect from the NYT?
