I've read that Slaughterday is just more time being herded down a chute to the cows ... until they smell the blood of their herd members. The smarter ones understand and go berserk. Fortunately they are a tiny minority.
Sent her a polite note, asking her to please state her qualifications concerning gun use/misuse, her experience with same and her political affiliation and position. I am willing to bet she has never touched a gun, or been around them. She reminds me of a pediatrician my kids briefly had, who began telling me what to feed the kids. She had no children.
"This is not a difficult concept", she kept saying.
Apparently not, when you refuse to factor in facts like John Lott's work, or all the anecdotal stories of those who saved their lives with guns of their own. But factor those in, and suddenly the concept gets REAL difficult.
And never mind that Loughner gave clear signs that he was one who should have been on the Verboten List.
All those facts just get in the way of The Agenda.

The League of Women Voters is and has been a progressive/fascist institution from the day it was founded. Voting rights for women were supported by progressives because they knew, from the European experience, that women vote socialist about two-thirds of the time. Social scientists think that it's a part of the family protection tendency intrinsic to the woman's existence.
Men are warriors, women keep the family intact and protect the gene pool.
Whether we like it or not, thirty or forty thousand years of genetic selection won't change that. The League of Women Voters encourages voting for those supporting the nanny state so that they can free themselves from male pairings.
In this case, this woman is doing the typical League activity, championing a core progressive/fascist position, in this case more gun confiscation.
Many is the man who has had his nose broken by his own flapping lips. Sounds like that could be as detrimental to one's health as being shot, but that didn't seem to factor into Ms Loehrlein Ph.D.'s thinking.
