Time to Get Tough with the Religious Fanatics

You know, those who worship the all-powerful state?

I just got done with the Catholics.

Looks like "The Rev." Robert C. Moore wants some, too.

Yeah, dickhead, "get tough".

How many divisions do you have, again?

UPDATE: Alvie unloads a gigazine on the guy.

I wonder if the Pope has round the clock armed body guards?

I guess there are "only ones" and then there are "Holy ones".

Btw. Transubstantiation of revenge to defence was genius.

The Pope has not ruled on the gun issue. The article was written by a supporter of the U.S. Bishops who had to work very hard to support the argument and in fact did a very poor job of supporting the argument. Overall, the Catholic Church supports self defense. However, it is not a monolithic entity, no matter how non-Catholics tend to portray the church. Please note that the Catholic church is currently the world's oldest functioning bureaucracy. This includes all of the infighting and cross purposes inherent in any bureaucracy.

IOW, the article that you took umbrage with is just a disarmament fanatic trying to steer the Catholic church into support of universal disarmament.

Moore said: "More than 30,000 Americans die each year at the hand of a gun."

At the hand of a gun?
I have a handgun, but my handgun doesn't have hands. If it did, it wouldn't need ME anymore.
Gosh, I'm glad they're so much smarter than us, these people who know what's best.

I love these word verification things. This time it's ralumak. Like Remulak, the Conehead planet when you must gnarfle the Garthok in trial by combat. It's big, it's ugly, it can pop your head off, but it chokes easily on small objects.

The McCarthy magazine ban bill text is released. Would ban mags over 10 rounds from sale or transfer, regardless of manufacture date. Apparently nothing about POSSESSION. Yet.
Make arrangements to have them buried with us?
Uh, no.

A "reverend" wants to take things away from people, against their will, using enforcers.

Isn't that "theft", and "inciting violence"?

By his acts, we know him.

David -

The article you referenced regarding the Catholic teaching on self defense and handguns is in error.

The Church does not teach that a person does not have the right to own a handgun or to use it in self defense.

Several others besides myself commented on that post and pointed out that the article was factually incorrect.

Continuing to criticize the Catholic Church for something she does not actually teach is just an ongoing strawman.

David, we're actually on the same side in this issue.

Really, we are.
