The U.S. Marshals Service can deputize a member of Congress as a special deputy marshal if a threat assessment shows they are in danger, a federal law enforcement official said. What do you think about that, George Mason?
Carrying a special deputy badge allows the bearer to carry a concealed handgun anywhere, including inside a federal building like the U.S. Capitol. [More]
I ask who are the militia? They consist now of the whole people, except a few public officers.Oh. So I guess not much...?

Congress critters are part of the legislative branch, yes?
Violation of separation of powers and therefor illegal, yes?
Doing illegal crap is Standard Procedure for our government, yes?
Yeah, yeah. Democrat or Republican, neither party gives a damn about George Mason's definition of "Militia" anymore. But at least the ones pursuing deputy status so they can carry aren't out to crap on the 2A some more, like Carolyn "Shoulder Thingie" McCarthy is.
Anon raises a very good question about the separation of powers, though.
we're seeing a "rectal-cranial inversion" of our founders vision
