Officer Derek Colling Assaulted Videographer Mitchell Crooks Because He Didn't Want To Be Recorded [More]
Grab this video and save it before it disappears--it's already been taken down from the Las Vegas Review Journal website, which has a write-up on what happened.
Due to that paper's affiliation with the vultures at Righthaven, I'm not inclined to drive any (admittedly modest) traffic to their site.

Crap like this gets my blood boiling......
I dont dare write much more lest I get in trouble for threatening....
It's getting to be about time to respond to such assaults on life and liberty with deadly force.
Time to lawyer up.
Odd, a police officer threatening someone with physical pain, aka "world of hurt", instead of plainly stating that they will be place under arrest. Not waiting for any response, and then not correctly evaluating that response. Also, kicking the recording equipment is questionable as to the purpose. An officer mocking someone under arrest? Perhaps it is best that he is unidentified.
"Obstructing an officer"?
Time to lawyer up.
I really hope this goes farther than the charges against him being dropped (as they almost certainly will be, if it's his house)
Creeps like this shouldn't be wearing the uniform (in a good world).
Definitely a good addition to the "only ones" files.
Ordinary citiznes are relentlessly watched and recorded by their government, but when citizens try to record the people who supposedly work for them, they get arrested.
Once they start hollering 'stop resisiting' you're toast.
Doesn't matter anymore, any action or inaction is 'resisting', so is there anything left to lose?
That cop makes it clear, if they get out of the car and come towards you and do not obey YOUR order to stop, you will have to use force that may be lethal to them. There's simply no tolerance for this kind of assault to occur at all. There is no intermediate position on this, it's you or them.
There's one thing that I will not tolerate and that's having some taxeating thug assault or use a tazer on me.
Not ever.
