The Mexican people and government need to get into a Vermont state of mind. The drug cartels are already well armed, despite laws against it. It is time to enable ordinary citizens to defend themselves. An entire village can defeat a handful of organized criminals. When enough villages act decisively, the cartels will not operate as effectively as they had.
Oh wait... Then the villagers will start wanting better politicians and government, wondering why this has not happened a long time ago. And the villagers will be armed. Never mind.
