"Authorized Journalists" Weigh in on Dyer

"...who reportedly belongs to a militia group called Oath Seekers." [More]
That right there discredits everything else these lazy parroting mouthpieces have to say. Because he didn't and they're not.

It strikes me if the guy were as dangerous to the public as they're making him out to be, he's had ample opportunity to demonstrate it-- if that really was him. The person I read about in this account wants to avoid trouble.

I don't pretend to know the truth of his case and why he chose evasion, but do wonder why I should believe anything the government or the media have to say about this guy.  And isn't that just a damn shame, and indicative of what's wrong with the Republic?

"...a militia group called Oath Seekers."

I admit that my web search was cursory, but I just couldn't find a militia group named "Oath Seekers". Anyone have a clue what they're talking about? It couldn't be the "Oath Keepers" since 1) that isn't a militia, and 2) he isn't a member so far as I know.

Surely this wasn't just crappy research and reporting by an Authorized Journalist. [/sarc]

Markie Marxist sez: "Armed and dangerous and is believed to be in Texas? That's Rick Perry!"

here's a gem from the story:

...said FBI spokesperson Shauna Dunlap. "The important thing is to locate this individual and to bring him back to Oklahoma so that he can face justice."

Justice from the FBI?

Like David, I don't know all the facts of this case but, it does smell of the same stuff that made Waco and Ruby Ridge. I.E. charged with possession of an illegal grenade launcher, charged with the rape of a six year old...

Many of us might not care if Dyer possessed a grenade launcher, but our heart strings would definitley be pulled by a rape charge of a six year old. Are these charges real or imaginary? Are we being manipulated by this information?

I guess only time will tell. He will eventually be caught, and if not killed, we may find out what really happened.

I lay 100-1 odds (in favor) that this joker wrote the piece after getting off the phone with Mark Potok at the SPLC -- and was taking notes while on the line so furiously that he heard "Oath Seekers" instead of "Oath Keepers".

The fed charges on the "grenade launcher" were dropped. There's some indication that it was 37mm rather than 40mm. Maybe used for the purpose of launching smoke, and gas grenades. Dyer's 1st trial on the sex charges ended in a mistrial (hung jury).

That said; If he decides to turn himself in, he'd damn well better do so through an attorney and with plenty of witnesses, because some fed jackass is probably already on the range familiarizing himself with Dyer's photo.

Stock price of the media giant where I used to be employed: $1.99 per share. Stock value of my new employer, Wal-Mart: $50 a share.
