Why, Oh Why?

Why the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives did not arrest Celis-Acosta immediately is not clear. He was their prime suspect and the subject of secret wiretaps approved by the Department of Justice. [More]
Yeah, gee, that's a real mystery, that is.

Oh, I know!  Because if we let him go and make no attempt to follow, we'll catch the big fish!

Do you believe there are actually right wing conspiracy theorists who are so paranoid they don't buy that explanation?

You know, I actually MET the Big fish back in about 89. He invited me to his smaller boat - the 90 footer - for a Cubana and a glass of Napoleon brandy and a short interview. I asked him how he had managed to survive to his age ( he was in his late 80s( in a world of such deadly competition. After all, he handled most of the drug, bootleg music, prostitution and counterfeit operations in the world. He said it was easy - when any of his underlings were arrested, they simply convinced the authorities that if they were kicked loose, they would lead them to the Big Fish.
I asked if he himself had ever been arreted and he said yes, but he used the same ploy... offered to let them follow him to the Bigger Fish. and so on.
Memory is a little fuzzy but I think he had an odd name... Sorro.. no Sorr... SOROS! That was it.

They held him long enough for the check to the Obama campaign to clear
